KAIZEN

This is a fictional poster I created for Kaizen, Inoxtag’s documentary about his ascension to Mount Everest in 1 year.

I wanted to capture the spirit of the climb, the mental shift, the self-discipline, and translate it into a symbolic, cinematic image. The result: a lone hand holding an orange ice axe, piercing straight through a phone. Determined, focused, unstoppable. Just like the journey itself.

CONCEPT

CONCEPT

The idea was to turn a single gesture into a full story. The image shows a climber (Inoxtag) driving his axe into a phone literally breaking free from the digital world. It’s not just dramatic, it’s intentional: the phone represents distraction, comfort, dependency.

By destroying it, he commits to something higher. The mountain becomes a metaphor for purpose, and everything is built to support that energy.

RESEARCH

RESEARCH

I watched Kaizen and focused on the key themes: discipline, isolation, discomfort, growth.

I also studied alpine photography and mountaineering visuals especially how gear and gestures tell stories without words. The decision to show the axe stabbing the phone was a nod to classic heroic imagery, like banners or weapons raised in victory.

Design

Design

The snow was created using Geometry Nodes in Blender for realistic scattering and depth. It gives the poster movement and texture, like a moment caught mid-storm.

I recreated the exact same model of ice axe, glove, and jacket Inoxtag wore during his ascent. The down jacket sleeve was fully painted in Photoshop. The typography KAIZEN is carved from ice: sharp, confident, and frozen in motion. It ties the entire composition into one clear, powerful message.

DEVELOPMENT

Even though it’s a still image, everything was treated like a scene.

Lighting, composition, materials, all carefully balanced to feel cinematic and intentional. This wasn’t about realism for its own sake. It was about crafting a symbolic moment that says: leave comfort behind, climb anyway.
