BALENCIAGA

BALENCIAGA

BALENCIAGA

This was my first project made with Cinema 4D—and I went all in.

A Balenciaga sneaker trapped in a block of ice, slowly melting under a laser. That’s the scene. The rest is tension, texture, and atmosphere.I wanted the piece to feel experimental, luxurious, and slightly off. Like the brand itself: always pushing, always playing with codes. From the cut to the sound, nothing is conventional—and that’s the point.

CONCEPT

CONCEPT

The core image was simple: a Balenciaga Track 2.0 frozen in time, slowly breaking free under artificial heat. I liked the contrast between the brutal cold of the ice and the mechanical intensity of the laser.

It felt like a metaphor for modern luxury—iconic and frozen, but constantly under pressure.

Is the shoe being destroyed, purified, or transformed? The ambiguity is what makes it resonate.

RESEARCH

RESEARCH

I explored Balenciaga’s universe: dark visuals, industrial tones, fashion dystopias. Their imagery often feels detached but intense—almost like something alien, but strangely familiar.

I dug into luxury product staging, lab setups, melting materials, and brutalist visuals. The aim wasn’t to imitate Balenciaga, but to catch that friction between elegance and distortion.

DESIGN

DESIGN

The Track 2.0 model wasn’t built from scratch, but learning Cinema 4D to stage it was a big step. I focused on lighting, materials, and scene setup to bring out the icy weight of the environment.

The sneaker stays untouched, almost sacred while the world around it melts and glitches. I used blob tracking in TouchDesigner to add an extra layer of abstraction: fluid, reactive, and a little unsettling. It turned the whole piece into a kind of digital ritual.

DEVELOPMENT

DEVELOPMENT

The pacing is tight and deliberate. Every cut is abrupt, every shift calculated. I chose a raw, distorted soundtrack that feels closer to a sound sculpture than music.

This wasn’t a showcase—it was a sensation. Cold, controlled chaos. Fashion trapped in time, dissolving under pressure. Just like the brand: high concept, low comfort, sharp edge.
